Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently reshaping the landscape and horizons of oncology, opening new important opportunities for improving the management of cancer patients. As the role of technology in healthcare grows, pharmacists hold a crucial role in being the intermediary between educating healthcare personnel and the public, especially with regards to therapy. By recognizing that oncology is one of the largest fields in modern medicine, we can educate and encourage the safe use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance outcomes for patients.
Learning Objectives for Pharmacists & Nurses | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Recall the three main components of artificial intelligence (AI) including machine learning, neural networks and deep learning
- Identify the five “Vs” of big data
- Recognize the clinical impact of AI in various cancer types
