“FRESHen up Your Knowledge & Focus Your Fluid Resuscitation”

Philips Healthcare & Baxter* present a program in the Better Outcomes webinar series…”FRESHen up Your Knowledge & Focus Your Fluid Resuscitation”

Most hospitals have initiated some form of the sepsis bundle and administration of fluids to mitigate global organ dysfunction. From both a research and clinical perspective, it has become clear that one size does not fit all, and the aggressive administration of fluids without regard to responsiveness exacerbates AKI and ARDS among many other secondary dysfunctions. Providers must adjust their focus to finding more functional endpoints that guide amount and timing of fluid resuscitation. The FRESH trial validates the role of dynamic responsiveness utilizing a non-invasive methodology, along with passive leg raise and aliquots of fluid bolusing. This webinar will show you how to FRESHen up your hemodynamic interventions and endpoint monitoring to improve fluid administration in your critical septic patients.

Learning Objectives | After this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define dynamic responsiveness
  2. Discuss the issues of fluid overload and underload
  3. Determine endpoints to drive resuscitation maximizing stroke volume
