“Move with Purpose: The ICU Nurse’s Role in Early and Progressive Mobility”

HoverTech* presents…”Move with Purpose: The ICU Nurse’s Role in Early and Progressive Mobility”

Early and progressive mobility is a critical ICU intervention. Prolonged immobility contributes to ICU-acquired weakness, delirium, increased ventilator days, and longer hospital stays. Bedside nurses play a vital role in assessing readiness, initiative safe mobility and advocating for movement despite barriers. This course reviews nurse-driven mobility strategies and addresses common implementation challenges.

Learning Outcomes  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the risks of immobility and the benefits of early and progressive mobility in critically ill patients.
  2. Apply nurse-driven strategies to safely initiate and advance mobility in the ICU despite common barriers.
