ASHE and other organizations have successfully proven the value of an integral commissioning process to the planning, design, construction, and initial operations of a healthcare facility, but these phases typically only represent 14% to 15% of the building’s life cycle cost. A similar approach can be implemented to optimize cost and savings for the remaining 85% of the building’s life cycle cost. This presentation will provide the key steps, metrics, best practices, and case study results for implementing an ongoing commissioning process within an existing healthcare facility.
