“Ask the Experts: Addressing the Patient Safety Issues of Residual Paralysis”

This activity will focus on current issues related to neuromuscular blockade and reversal. The faculty will address the key issues and provide practice pearls for physicians and pharmacists. The content for this activity is based on questions and comments from participants at a recent educational symposium on this topic. Time for additional questions from the webinar audience will be provided at the end of the presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe strategies to promote patient safety with neuromuscular blocking agents and reversal agents.
  2. Review the management of post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
  3. Apply best practices in neuromuscular blockade and reversal, including appropriate monitoring, using patient scenarios.
