The Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)* presents…“What Clinicians Need to Know About Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccination of Adolescents”

This COCA call will give clinicians an overview of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination in adolescents who are 12-to-15 years of age. Clinicians will learn about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, vaccine recommendations, and clinical guidance for using the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in adolescents in this age group.

Objectives  |  At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to accomplish the following:

  1. Cite background information on the topic covered during the presentation.
  2. Discuss CDC’s role in the topic covered during the presentation.
  3. Describe the topic’s implications for clinicians.
  4. Discuss concerns and/or issues related to preparedness for and/or response to urgent public health threats.
  5. Promote health improvement, wellness, and disease prevention in cooperation with patients, communities, at-risk populations, and other members of an interprofessional team of healthcare providers.
