“The Next Stage in Cardiogenic Shock: Timing is Everything”

Getinge* presents…“The Next Stage in Cardiogenic Shock: Timing is Everything”

Early recognition and early PCI is critical to the survival of cardiogenic shock patients. Cardiogenic shock can occur along multiple points in the pathway of care, more frequently developing after initial presentation to the hospital.

Clinicians must be ready to recognize the early signs and symptoms of cardiogenic shock, not only in the ER and catheterization lab but throughout their patient’s course of treatment including the ICU setting.

This live one-hour accredited web-seminar will review the general background on cardiogenic shock treatment plan considerations, the new Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) classification of cardiogenic shock and current data on the use of mechanical circulatory support.

Learning Objectives  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Identify three indications and three contraindications for IABC therapy
  • Delineate the major complications associated with IABC therapy
  • Discuss the operation and troubleshooting of the IABP
