This activity will educate a national audience of healthcare professionals about the FDA Bad Ad program. It will also educate the nation’s healthcare professionals about prescription drug advertising and promotion.
Learning Objectives | Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify the role that FDA’s Office of Prescription Drug Promotion, or OPDP, plays in regulating prescription drug promotion and advertising.
- Recognize persuasive techniques commonly used in advertising and promotion.
- Describe the most common regulatory issues raised by prescription drug promotion.
- Recognize potentially false or misleading prescription drug promotion.
- Locate the Bad Ad contact information.
- Translate knowledge into action and report potentially problematic prescription drug promotion to OPDP.

Target Audience: This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, certified public health professionals, other health care professionals, and students.

Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. To receive your certificate for CE credit, you must complete the post-test and receive a score of 80% or better and complete an evaluation form. Other users may complete the evaluation and print a Certificate of Completion.
