“Mechanical CPR: The Incredible Journey”

Stryker & Saxe Healthcare Communications present*“Mechanical CPR: The Incredible Journey”

The basis of all cardiac resuscitation is immediate high-quality CPR. Currently, for in-hospital cardiac arrest the mainstay of high-quality CPR is manual compressions. Mechanical CPR devices are automated devices that perform chest compressions during cardiac arrest without the need for manual compressions. Mechanical CPR is frequently used for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, however, it is used less often in hospitals due to lack of supporting evidence. This case-based webinar will follow a cardiac arrest patient from medical surgical floor through to the cardiac cath lab. Throughout this patient’s journey, the speakers will demonstrate the clinical benefits of mechanical CPR that goes beyond the current research. Learners will also learn ideas and tips to support implementation of mechanical CPR in their institutions.

Learning Objectives | Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the importance of high-quality CPR
  2. Discuss concepts of mechanical CPR
  3. List the key concepts and benefits of implementation of mechanical CPR
