HealthTrust presents…“Knocking the Chip Off of Shoulder Replacement Surgery”

Shoulder replacement surgery has recently seen changes in technique and practice setting. Understanding the basics of this procedure, devices used and the future state of shoulder arthroplasty will assist both clinicians and hospital leaders with planning for the future in this complex space. This program will provide an overview of anatomic shoulder arthroplasty and reverse should arthroplasty, including appropriate use for these procedures and the landscape of devices used. Trends in procedures and movement to outpatient status will round out the discussion of these complex procedures.

Learning Objectives  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the difference between anatomic shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty and appropriate use of each procedure.
  2. List the drivers for the movement of these procedures to the outpatient setting.
  3. Use the information learned to have meaningful conversations regarding the future state of shoulder arthroplasty in the attendee’s organization.
