This session will explore the gaps in maternal healthcare through the lens of one nurse’s pregnancy journey, including nine losses before the birth of her son. Attendees will participate in immersive role-playing and reflective discussions to identify systemic barriers and explore actionable strategies for change.

Learning Objectives  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize implicit bias and inequities in maternal healthcare that contribute to disparities.
  2. Identify patient-centered, trauma-informed practices to improve communication and care.
  3. Develop actionable solutions to address gaps in maternal health outcomes within their practice.
  4. Enhance understanding of how lived experiences can inform equitable care strategies.
