Numerous vaccine candidates are seeking approval in the U.S. for the prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Healthcare systems and providers have begun making preparations for distribution, storage and administration which may begin as early as late November.
Planning for vaccinations should include an understanding of the vaccine development process, the current vaccines under study, plans for distribution and how to address vaccine hesitancy in staff and communities. The HealthTrust Vaccine Update webinar will provide an overview of these topics and reveal sources currently available to assist with planning.
Objectives for attendees | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Understand the vaccine development process and identify differences in the current vaccines under study
- Recognize the plan for distribution, storage, and administration of vaccine and how it impacts their health system
- Apply information regarding vaccine hesitancy to create a communication plan
- Utilize resources available to begin planning for vaccine administration
