Healthcare associated infections (HAIs)—specifically surgical site infections (SSIs)—continue to be an area of concern and focus to reduce patient risk and improve outcomes following surgical procedures. This webinar reviews current and innovative surveillance strategies and interventions that offer opportunities to control patient risk.
Learning Objectives | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the most updated HAI/SSI surveillance and guidelines for optimization of infection control and operating room practices
- Review current evidence-based approaches to reduce perioperative transmission of microorganisms that are associated with HAIs, including SSIs
- Examine different perspectives on what we have under control such as: OR environment, personnel and innovative solutions
- Discuss clinical and economic evidence for better patient outcomes
