A critical component of successful product conversions has always been transparency and open communication with stakeholders from all aspects of the conversion. However, the most important key to enhancing physician and C-Suite acceptance of a product conversion is data. Join this session as presenters share a recent conversion of all endomechanical and trocar business to one vendor at a 13 hospital IDN that led to another key ingredient to success—closing communication gaps internally within the medical facilities and externally with the supplier. This success came by intentionally choosing key stakeholders who worked collaboratively with the supplier team to develop plans for implementation and issues response and ensured that post conversion resources were put in place.

Learning Objectives | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Recall steps to execute a large-scale medical device conversion within a hospital or IDN
  • Describe the available tools and resources to leverage from a vendor partner to execute on all levels of the product conversion
  • Identify the impact of a major conversion to the clinical staff and the importance of having superusers
