HealthTrust presents…Virtual HTU: “Resurrection of Ambulatory Surgical Services in the Era of COVID”

Download the content.

In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, ambulatory surgical venues provide a vital resource for hospital systems. While disruptions and uncertainty abound, including staffing shortages and supply chain limitations, these challenges have allowed creative reorganizations to emerge that emphasize safe, efficient, comprehensive care. This session presents a successful re-engagement of one facility’s outpatient surgical venue with a focus on patient and staff satisfaction. Included will be the analyses, processes and ultimate successes that led to the resurrection of this most important component of their healthcare delivery system.

Learning Objectives | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the process improvement methods instrumental to engagement of a workforce previously displaced in the era of COVID shutdowns
  • Recognize the emphasis placed on standard work as it relates to perioperative services and the provision of efficient care in the setting of a busy Ambulatory Surgical Center
  • Identify the importance of identity and branding as it relates to patient engagement and staff satisfaction
