Virtual HTU: “It’s a Small Copay After All—Launching a Central MPAP (Medication Patient-Assistance Program) Team”

October 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

HealthTrust presents…Virtual HTU: “It’s a Small Copay After All—Launching a Central MPAP (Medication Patient-Assistance Program) Team”

Patient copays are often a barrier to medication therapy. Limited resources within clinics, medical offices and pharmacies make it difficult to navigate the complicated processes around financial assistance and medication patient-assistance-programs (MPAP). Presenters will summarize the path to launching and maintaining a central MPAP team with specific examples and learnings from their journey. Discover why a MPAP team is of vital importance to patients, providers and organizations and identify a model to emulate.

Learning Objectives | At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Recall potential financial barriers to medication therapy and patient care as well as the level of burden caused to providers and clinical staff.
  2. Idenfity key steps in launching and maintaining a Central MPAP (Medication Patient-Assistance-Program) Team.
  3. Recognize the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business initiatives that can help sustain this an MPAP team.
