Endotracheal tubes are designed to protect the airway and provide a direct route to the lungs for mechanical ventilation. One of the hazards and complications of endotracheal tubes is an increase risk in developing pulmonary infections. This presentation will discuss a new design of endotracheal tubes to minimize and reduce the risk of pulmonary infections associated with endotracheal tube use.
