All too often, at the doctor’s office, the hospital, the nursing home, or even at home it’s simply a place to insert a needle, tape a tube or attach an adhesive or device—it’s an afterthought. But what would happen if we thought about skin differently? How can skin be our secret superpower in improving care?

Join us for a new multi-part webinar series on the science of skin management that will dive into areas such as safe securement to skin, maintaining skin integrity, repairing injured skin and preventing infection. To kick off the series, two physicians will explore elevating the importance of skin when delivering care.

Learning Objectives

• Describe the structure of skin and how genetics and lifestyle, environmental factors and underlying conditions impact the skin’s ability to act as a barrier against damage
• Discuss how a comprehensive, integrated framework can help protect the skin, prevent injury and infection and treat wounds
• Identify injuries and conditions that can occur when skin is not considered
• Explain how scientific advancements and thinking skin first can drive patient outcomes
