Prone patient positioning has become a commonly recommended intervention for managing patients with respiratory distress as a way to improve respiratory mechanics and oxygenation.

Learning Objectives   |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to

  1. Physiologic rationale and the evidence for use of the prone position in patients with ARDS
  2. Evidence-based strategies for determining when to turn, how to turn, and how long to allow patients to remain in the prone position
  3. Strategies for preventing complication
