  • Identify various sources of contamination that increase risks leading to catheter bloodstream infection
  • Explore clinical challenges associated with VAD maintenance that can impact outcomes
  • Review the recommended guidelines, practices and evidence-based interventions for VAD maintenance to aid with the reduction of BSI risk
  • Identify strategies for prevention of VA related bloodstream infection in patients
