The epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections (HAI) and surgical site infections (SSI) will be discussed and how establishing a standardized, every patient, every time process and outcomes directed patient interventions can help reduce practice variability and ultimately help to reduce overall HAI and SSI rates.

- Discuss the epidemiology of hospital surgical site and hospital-acquired infection (HAI) and surgical site infection (SSI) rates.
- Discuss the impact of HAI and SSI infections.
- Discuss current best practices and technology innovations for HAI and SSI infection prevention.
