On-demand: “Ultraviolet (UV) Devices: Key Criteria to Evaluate Performance, Operation & Safety”

Pfiedler Education* presents…On-demand: “Ultraviolet (UV) Devices: Key Criteria to Evaluate Performance, Operation & Safety”

As hospital systems adopt enhanced environmental hygiene protocols to combat COVID-19 and the ongoing threat of healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs), interest and demand for ultraviolet (UV) devices for whole room disinfection has increased. UV devices vary greatly in form factor, key operational and safety features and evidence for product effectiveness claims – all of which can make it challenging to evaluate a device. The goal of this program is to educate a broader audience on core UV device features to inform selection of proven, effective and safe UV devices.

Learning Objectives  |  After completing this continuing nursing education activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Review evidence-based support for ultraviolet (UV) devices used for whole room disinfection.
2. Describe key operational and safety features employed by UV devices.
3. Discuss product selection criteria for effective and safe UV devices.

Target Audience: Infection preventionists, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are interested in learning more about enhanced environmental hygiene and ultraviolet disinfecting devices.
