Healthcare professionals caring for individuals with high output stomas need to be able to provide appropriate care to prevent complications and rehospitalization. This presentation will use case studies to focus on the common causes, implications, and management of high output stomas.

Learning Objectives for Nurses  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
1. Describe the implications of a high output stoma (HOS).
2. Discuss the nutritional, pharmacologic, and pouching management interventions for high output stomas.
