The American Headache Society published updated consensus recommendations on migraine headache treatment strategies in 2021 that include recently FDA approved treatment options. This presentation will review new pharmacologic treatment options for migraines and discuss where these new options fit into current standards of practice. It will specifically highlight calcitonin gene-related receptor antagonists, calcitonin gene-related peptide antagonists and serotonin 1F receptor agonists.

  2. Recognize primary literature surrounding the safety and efficacy of new migraine treatment options.
  3. Identify where the new migraine treatment options fit into current standards of practice.
