This webinar will explore the latest research into the natural history of Incontinence Associated Dermatitis, including how the skin is damaged, and the time from exposure to irritants (in this case urine and fecal matter) to inflammation and skin damage. We will also discuss the latest interventions for early prevention of IAD and related pressure injury, and the effect of prompt and aggressive of urinary and fecal incontinence on patient satisfaction.

Learning Objectives  |  At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Review the latest findings related to the pathophysiology of skin when exposed to urine and stool and the effect of exposure time.
  • Apply this knowledge to a structured management approach that prevent damage to the skin before IAD or pressure injury occur and improved patient satisfaction related to management of urinary and fecal incontinence.
