As part of its Critical Care Webinar Series, AACN* presents: “Coaching Nurses on Building Resilience in a Turbulent Time”

The COVID-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented challenge for critical care nurses and poses a threat to their well-being. A recent survey by the American Nurses Foundation found that more than half of nurse respondents reported feeling overwhelmed. Nurse leaders can play a role in mitigating this stress and promoting the growth that comes from working through challenges. This webinar presents strategies for guiding nurses in responding to stress and developing resilience. Nurses in a wide range of leadership positions, including managers, educators and charge nurses, can use these strategies to influence the impact of this pandemic on their colleagues. This interactive webinar features a case study and panel discussion with nurse leaders, as well as opportunities for participant questions.

Objectives

• Discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic impacts nurse well-being, including their mental health.
• Describe communication skills that nurse leaders can use to mitigate stress and promote resilience in staff nurses.
• Incorporate coaching for resilience strategies into your clinical and leadership practice.
