“Civility in Healthcare”

August marks National Civility Month, a time to celebrate and recognize the importance of civil behavior. Earlier this year, the University of Tennessee announced new policy addressing civility and collegiality. In the coming weeks, its Office of Inclusion, Equity & Diversity will be sponsoring four lectures under a campaign titled “Got Civility?” The overall goal is to promote civility and civil discourse throughout UTHSC to increase intellectual diversity and promote climate facilitating the free and respectful exchange of ideas.

Alisa Haushalter, DNP, RN, PHNA-BC  |  Dr. Alisa Haushalter is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s College of Nursing, where she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a specialty in public health leadership in 2007. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in family practice from Vanderbilt University in 1997 and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Belmont University in 1982. Dr. Haushalter is certified as an Advanced Public Health Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
