The growing incidence of antimicrobial resistance along with increased rates of surgical site infections demands the adoption of new techniques in prevention of surgical site infections. The goal of this program is to educate a broader audience on strategies to prevent surgical site infections.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this webinar, the healthcare practitioner should be able to:
1. Review the impact of surgical site infections (SSIs) on patients, physicians, and healthcare facilities.
2. Discuss current evidence-based recommendations related to SSI prevention.
3. Describe the use of surgical dressings as a strategy to reduce SSI rates.
4. Examine the evidence related to dialkylcarbamoylchloride (DACC) impregnated surgical dressings for the prevention of SSIs.
