Fast Track TAVR Pathway

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a minimally invasive procedure to replace a narrowed valve that fails to open properly.  This procedure as opposed to surgical aortic valve replacement, when used in appropriate patients can result in better outcomes with shorter hospital length of stay and recovery overall recovery times. A newer minimalist approach to this procedure (Fast-Track) provides further streamlining of patient care and can result in next day discharge for TAVR in some patients. This document provides a pathway for Fast-Track TAVR.
