Prone Positioning for COVID-19 Patients
Severe cases of COVID-19 may be complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The World Health Organization (WHO) and Surviving Sepsis Campaign established guidance for optimizing supportive care to ensure best possible patient outcomes. Prone ventilation is not without risk of adverse events. The procedure requires teamwork and skill, therefore sufficient human resources and expertise is required for the safe performance of prone therapy. In adult patients with severe ARDS, prone ventilation for 12-16 hours per day is recommended. Learn more by accessing this document.
