Osteobiologics in Spinal Fusion

Includes products that incorporate biology and/or biochemistry for the repair, as well as use for replacement or regeneration of musculoskeletal structure. These products include Bone Grafts, Synthetic Bone, Biologic and Putty. Osteobiologics in spinal fusion include autograft, allograft, demineralized bone matrix (DBM), cell-based allograft, synthetic/ceramic bone substitutes, and Bone Morphogenic Proteins (BMP) used to help promote bone healing with spine hardware. This document provides an overview of these products and current evidence regarding their use.
