Nutrition in COVID-19 Patients

There is an apparent relationship between nutritional status, sarcopenia (related to age or obesity), and poor prognosis in COVID-19 patients. Evidence-based approaches have yet to be developed regarding nutritional guidelines in the COVID-19 patient; however the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) have developed general guidance based on prior evidence with other infectious diseases and current experience with COVID-19.  Learn more by accessing this document.
