Intraocular Lens

Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are polymeric devices implanted in the globe of the eye and intended to replace the cloudy, cataractous natural lens. There are now at least 34 companies manufacturing these lenses for humans and animals, and more than 10,000,000 lenses are implanted globally each year, making IOLs one of the most widely used medical implants in the world.
