TARGET AUDIENCE:

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, and others involved in the management of patients with, or at risk for, chronic wounds.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES  |  After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:

      • Describe the financial and clinical burden of surgical site infections (SSIs)
      • Review data from the randomized clinical trial on the effect of improving basic preventive measures in the perioperative arena on staphylococcus aureus transmission and surgical site infections
      • Describe how to measure S. aureus transmission and to choose operating rooms and specialties for such monitoring

CLAIMING CREDIT
