On demand program “COVID-19 Pulmonary, ARDS and Ventilator Resources”

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses* presents…”COVID-19 Pulmonary, ARDS and Ventilator Resources.”

To date, the most serious reported symptoms from COVID-19 are pulmonary complications. “COVID-19 Pulmonary, ARDS and Ventilator Resources” quickly provides learners with the knowledge and resources to provide essential care to ICU patients with coronavirus. To support you and other nurses who need to cross train to care for patients with COVID-19, AACN is making this eLearning course available for all nurses, at no charge, to provide vital resources during this challenging time.

Learners are immersed in real-world ICU scenarios, while interactive elements encourage the development of safe and effective practices.

The modules are divided into four units that cover:

  1. Analyzing ABGs and managing patients’ oxygen delivery including oxygenation and ventilation
  2. Caring for patients with acute respiratory failure and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
  3. Administering care for patients requiring endotracheal intubation or invasive mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting ventilator
  4. Managing patients on mechanical ventilation, including spontaneous awakening trials, neuromuscular blockade, prevention of complications, weaning from ventilation and extubation.
  5. Key procedures from the ‘AACN Procedure Manual for High Acuity, Progressive and Critical Care’ are now available for free, courtesy of Elsevier.

Continuing education:  CE is not offered for this course at this time.
