DESCRIPTION:HealthTrust presents…“A Change in Culture: A Review of the 2023 Infection Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Guidelines for the Treatment of Antimicrobial Resistant Gram-Negative Infections” \n \n  \nDownload the content. \nThe rate of antibiotic resistance\, particularly in Gram-negative organisms like Enterobacterales and P. aeruginosa\, has emerged as a global crisis. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) reports that antimicrobial resistant organisms accounted for 2.8 million infections\, causing 35\,000 deaths between 2012 and 2017. Research with the newer antimicrobial agents is rapidly emerging\, so it is vital that practitioners understand their appropriate place in therapy in order to use them effectively in the treatment of resistant Gram-negative organisms. The presenter will provide an overview of the updated IDSA guidelines regarding antimicrobial resistance among Gram-negative organisms\, including a discussion of the relevance\, incidence and epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
