HealthTrust presents….”Dealing With Delirium: The Pediatric Perspective”

While pediatric delirium has been identified as a common occurrence in pediatric intensive care units, less than 30 percent of pediatric ICUs report routinely screening for delirium. In an effort to increase awareness regarding the incidence of pediatric delirium, the session will offer an overview of the signs and symptoms of delirium and explore various risk factors in patients suffering from acute illness. The presenter will also discuss the assessment tools currently available for screening patients who are at risk of developing delirium and examine supporting evidence and medications used for treating pediatric delirium.
