Respiratory compromise is one of the leading avoidable patient safety issues. Respiratory compromise increases morbidity and mortality as well hospital inpatient costs. This presentation will define respiratory compromise, its causes, its implications and evidence-based prevention strategies that include continuous monitoring of ventilation using capnography.
