The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) launched the core measures for the management of sepsis on October 1, 2015. This talk will review the history of the measure and CMS’s approach to quality and quality measurement will be discussed. The data elements and their definitions will be presented as well as suggestions to meet the measures.
